My name is Julie Simmons and like so many people,
I spent months desperately trying to lose weight. I never used to have an issue with my
weight at all because I regularly swam, walked and was generally pretty active chasing around
my two kids!
However, in January 2008, after being a work at
home mum for so many years I started working as a receptionist for a local law firm. Even though I
enjoyed the work and social interaction, the problem was I didn't have any time to exercise and eat
well to keep myself slim anymore.
The Inevitable Started To
Happen....
I slowly began to gain weight and due to a lack of exercise and
stress eating, I gradually put on 25 pounds over the course of 9 weeks and things didn't get any better
from there.
After a few months the work eased off slightly and
I actually did have the chance to start swimming again, which I hoped would help me lose a little
bit of weight. However, after trying on my old swimsuit and standing in front of the mirror as a
'confidence test,' what I discovered was horrific. I looked repulsive. My belly was fat and hanging

I Tried Hoodia and Failed....

At first it worked out reasonably well and I began

After only 14 days
on the Atkins Diet I began to feel unhealthy and extremely ill presumably because of the high
levels of protein and fat that I was consuming. Even with no medical expertise at all, I
recognized that my digestive system was running into problems and for some reason the diet was also
bringing on terrible migraines - something I hadn't had since being a teenager.
The most worrying
aspect of all was that in the short time that I was following it, my cholesterol had sky rocketed
and after getting a friendly warning from my family doctor, and deciding that the pain and
suffering I was experiencing wasn't worth it compared to the amount of weight I was losing - I
quit!
I then tried a range
of low fat diet plans such as Scarsdale and Lemonade diet but because the suggested calorie intake
was almost ridiculously low, I became incredibly weak and felt like I was going to fall over all
the time. I soon realized that if I was actually going to lose weight and keep it off for any
length of time, it just wasn't realistic.
I Then Tried Alli, but did experience
